Did you know ? The Catatumbo Lightning is a cycle of cloud-cloud nocturnal thunderstorms that forms over the mouth of the Catatumbo River southeast of Lake Maracaibo from April to November, with night cycles of up to 8 hours of thunderstorms and an intensity of up to 60 lightning bolts per minute.
