I often find myself correcting people that call my Æthers “Rorschach’s” Not because I’m trying to be rude, it’s just important that people understand the differences. The only similarities they embody is that they’re both mirrored & abstract but I’d say that’s largely where the similarities begin and end. Here are a few key differences. 1. Rorschach’s are created with ink, Æthers are created with photographs. 2. Rorschach’s are completely subjective with no objective intent beyond psychological evaluation. Despite being abstract, Æthers contain objective intent from the visuals, the lore and the story behind them. They can still be perceived in a subjective way but they tell very specific stories and very specific meaning. 3. Visually Rorschach’s are intended to be very minimalist whereas Æthers are deeply intricate and often vibrant and brimming with sculpted detail to give form and highlight the creatures and entities I see in my head.
