Whenever I see points or streaks I think back to Duolingo and how powerful and fun it was to keep it going and win vs friends, even strangers.

Wouldn’t overincentivize streams with money but having them around for the fun and habit building is net positive - despite them becoming a self-inflected burden eventually.

Tbh, the fact that you compared this to Duolingo is spot on! I mean, the act of keeping up streaks and competing with friends even strangers adds an exciting layer to the experience. It’s really amazing how these small things can transform a habit into a fun and engaging challenge.
