I think it's time for some mini apps to progressively become standalone apps.

Which ones? I like a few, think they should build out a bigger product but I am still unlikely to go to an external Website Daily.

Was thinking about most of the daily games - farguesser for example - once you get an audience that's big enough it's more convenient for users to have a dedicated app!

Agree, for some Games it makes sense. That Said, I think some Games are meant to be Social Apps, miniapps like farguesser. Others can have a Basic Miniapp Version to bring in new Players and have a much bigger standalone App + unique community (thinking of clankermon, framedl, some farcade apps). Overall think it’s really hard to keep attention with a standalone app. (I’‘be only used Chess.com as a standalone Game longer-term). So, maybe it‘s better at this point to improve Game xp, grow community, embeddedness in farcaster.

Ps: I also played Chess.com on facebook (Desktop). It was a few Years later that I switched to mobile first (with better phones), started playing live bullet Chess in the standalone App (where I initially had to wait quite a bit for Players to match), paid for premium to level up & spent a sig amount in the app when it felt almost perfect.

PS2: if the miniapps don’t add crypto, I don’t see why anyone would play them outside farcaster.

Agreed - would actually be a simple way to have even more activity on existing users - Farcaster is the place where people would discover the mini app
