Is there any future where @nouns based DAOs provide membership on merit and not for purchase?

There are a bunch of great DAOs that are using the auction system, but id go broke if I tried to join all of them!

@purple is a great example of something I want to contribute towards, but without spending money!

I guess this is the place to bring up these sort of thoughts

I guess something like EAS governance based could be worth it. The more valid attestations, the more votes you have. 
One problem tho is that DAOs often need funding, and Nouns uses their actions for that
