One kinda fun thing about bans right now: the banned user's casts are only hidden from the channel feed.

But to the banned user everything appears normal. They can still read the channel, post to the channel, other can even see their posts on their timeline.

It's a shadow ban.

I learned this because I banned myself from my own channel to test something and only realized a week later when I made another test account and couldn’t find any of my posts.

no but just post then open an incognito window and load the channel. If you can't see your post you're probably banned (or the view is cached). If you really wanna make sure create another account, login with it and view the channel.

It’ll prob change anyhow but if anything I’d expect the current behavior to help those metrics compared to alternatives.

yeah not great, being badge-less seems to have the same effect too, so not sure what the plan is for normal users to gain follows + engagement to be seen... if they cant be seen lol
