abusing notifications for non critical updates has to be one of the most degenerative growth pm behaviors ever executed. facebook started it and linkedin finished it.

It’s degenerative imo bexause dopamine and attention is finite. Notification bubbles have high click thru rates because they indicate something highly highly relevant. I can just imagine the meeting looking at the high open rate, “hey, we have new feature x, can we put it there-feed isn’t converting anymore” and slowly nobody can refuse some other team from putting things into notifications until that channel too, is dead.
