I literally don’t know where I’d be in my career if it weren’t for @json… In 2016 we worked on a project together while we were both working at different agencies (Fuzzco/Upperquad). After that, he brought me on to handle frontend a handful of projects including stuff for google, uber, and coinbase 💙 Jayson is a legend - so the name fits. Super stoked to see what they’re up to 💪

⚠️ Wallet UX is broken Today’s wallets offer access—but access alone doesn’t bring new users onchain, experiences do. Most wallets drop users into the deep end, expecting them to navigate an ocean of complexity on their own. When someone is learning to swim, we don’t throw them into the open ocean and hope for the best. Yet, that is exactly how most wallets treat new users––it’s overwhelming and unintuitive. DeFi deserves better. And that’s where @joinlegend comes in.

⛔️ Users are sidelined Robinhood didn’t invent stock trading. Uber didn’t invent private rides. They made them effortless. Legend aims to do the same for DeFi. The demand is there—an estimated 617M users hold crypto, yet only 30–60M transact onchain. The gap isn’t interest, it’s accessibility. By delivering the first wallet with DeFi truly built in, we view this gap as an opportunity to bring users onchain.

✅ Self-custody matters Blockchain transparency and direct ownership remove the need for costly intermediaries—and the complex regulations designed to keep them in check. When users control their assets, there’s no Bernie Madoff to misuse the funds. No trust required. The result? Potential for a more efficient system where better rates, lower fees and increased economic freedom are passed down to the end user.

Interest rates adjust in real time, dictated by supply and demand, not a committee meeting every 60–90 days. Just last month, DEXs hit an all-time high in market share, making up over 20% of digital asset trading volume—up more than 50% year-over-year.
