Not sure how well Ciri will do as the player character. Geralt made the story telling great as a Bale-like Batman who doesn’t take up much of the stage the stage and lets the villains and side characters shine.

Player avatars certainly have succeeded (e.g., Half-Life via Gordon Freeman, Skyrim via Dovakhin, Cyberpunk via V), but there are plenty of games where the main character is strongly defined that have succeeded (Nathan Drake, Kratos, Cassandra in AC: Odyssey). I don't think a Witcher game with a protagonist that does more than go "hmmm" should be counted out.
