spooncarvers on here might like to meet OG Bill Coperthwaite. had a 5-day workshop with him that started w spoon carving, went to making our own work benches (still use mine every day), and a handmade ax sawn v patiently from a circular saw blade and retempered (not used in daily life hahah) hard to say if just a phase for most of us with no real place in modern life but for sure better the retvrn energy lol > … known for his intentional, simple living and his craftsmanship, including spoon carving, which he used as a way to foster meaningful conversations. Coperthwaite lived at Dickinson’s Reach, a forested compound he built in Machiasport, Maine, where he encouraged community and self-sufficient living. He passed away in 2013 in a car accident at the age of 83 https://chelseagreen.biz/product/a-handmade-life/ https://chelseagreen.biz/product/a-man-apart/
