the winner wins when everyone gives up? which means everyone besides 1 person believes the pot isn't worth their time, even as it continues to grow?

Thinking it fully through is hard, which is why it's so fascinating. The game can end from the scenario you point out, but are there others? Maybe DEGEN supply becomes so limited that one player manages to corner the market and hence nobody else *can* play? But does that make $DEGEN worthless, in which case who cares?

maybe it grows so large and captures so much attention that a DAO is formed to manage it as a treasury with players becoming members with pro rata voting control??

we cannot modify the game in any way, the wheels are already set in motion

the game only ends when everyone truly believes it will never end 🙂
