I agree. I teach young people irl and many of them have real social anxiety. Simple things like making a phone call or asking a stranger the time are completely alien to them. I cringe when i see babies attached to ipad screens. I’m not sure of the solution yet as we move forward into a more and more digital age but I do fear for the loss of irl interpersonal skills and the impact that it has on our young people, specifically on loneliness and depression statistics. 1 million followers and zero friends is a very real thing.

yeah, i agree 100% i see it w my kids we have to be very explicit w them about making eye contact, greeting ppl, saying thank you, etc. forming and maintaining good relationships is the antidote to a lot of the issues that technology creates in the world

Yes we are the same with the kids and we have strict limits on screen time. We also make a point to get them outside in nature and playing sports as much as possible. The problem is that not all parents do this, handing them the ipad to shut them up is the easy way to parent. The real issues come when these children have their own children. It's a genuine concern.
