Back in May, it seemed like everyone was launching memecoins to take advantage of their personal brands. I never really liked this idea because it seemed very 0 sum. Enter Moxie. Now, instead of a shitcoin tied to your personal brand, you can launch a fan token that serves many of the same functions but has the added benefit of being developed by a world class team. On top of this, because of the mechanics of buy/burn, fan tokens always have a reserve of Moxie, making them essentially unruggable. If everyone holding my fan token sold today, there would still be millions of Moxie locked in the contract from previous buy and burns. Tell me how this isn’t a better solution.

I agree that Moxie's approach seems more solid and safe. The buy/burn mechanism and token protection are key factors. However, I also believe that memecoins have a certain appeal due to their speculative nature and potential for rapid growth. The key is to balance risk and reward. Ultimately, the success of both fan tokens and memecoins will depend on market sentiment and the underlying utility they offer.
