1) web3 will not overtake web2 but will exist next to it.
2) mass consumer-oriented game that will be success full will be something with easy and engaging mechanic and simple, yet addictive trade system.

Generally agree! But also for #1 in the frothiest times some VCs mean well but were duped and fomo’d in sadly— not all VCs are malicious when a project is.

I’m late but:

1) A lot of games are cheap clones w tokens VCs just use to pump and dump

2) P2E attracts the kind of players that can kill a game economy and salt the earth. Making a web3 game economy that can survive scale is a Herculean task

seems like everything is just defi with extra steps

I tend to a agree in the case of 90% of FOCG I’ve seen (granted I’m not fully up to date)

The vibe I was getting Q4 last year was it was being forced way too hard as a narrative—that it pushed me away from actually getting deeply interested

I got 3 spicy takes for you even though this post is a month old. 

1. 99% of the builders In web3 gaming are still trying to use Web2 methods to solve Web3 problems which is why most of them will fail.

1) Teams the executed on product during the last 2 years while building an active fan base will continue to exists for longer time than new opportunistic web2 studios

2) PlayToEarn will comeback stronger brining next leg of growth and the hype dies again after another prabolic growth phase.
