Welcome to our Finterview @chriscocreated We've been fascinated with everything you've been doing in the collaborated space. From "Photosynthesis" to "We are Nounish" & "We are Farcaster", you've been able to engage the entire ecosystem to collaborate with you. How did your journey as a collaborator begin?

As a community theatre maker. I’ve always made work ‘with and for’. It started of collaborating with my peers as a student to make theatre about our lives, and then improvised work with people living with dementia. I believe that the process is at least as important as the outcome.

“with and for” 🖤 Speaking of process, what part of the process do you enjoy the most; the art, the community, the tech?

The two bits of the creative process I love are, coding the new thing - I get such flow of it; and conversations with people, engaged in what I’m doing, about how the art should evolve - hence the monthly drop explorations for /wearetheart

Been loving what you’re doing with /wearetheart . Take us all the way back to the time when it became clear that art is what you wanted to pursue, how did it all began? Does any moment or time period stick out?

It took me a long time to see myself as an artist. Certainly in my context it seemed quite an arrogant thing to say, and not something I could inhabit. I was in my mid 20s with enough theatre under my belt, and making graphic work and some writing, but fundamentally I became aware that I was seeing and responding the world as an artist. Since then my sense of identity and what I’m spending my time on has fluctuated, sometimes with art (in the broad definition) at the fore and sometimes in the background. I had an interesting conversation with a friend about this the other day, and ended up concluding that the approach might be just to say ‘I make art’

“I make art” might be the simplest and most beautiful way to put it. Are there any specific individuals who had an outsized impact on your artistic pursuit?

I'd say initially teachers at university, and then the people who have taken the time to take my art seriously and lift me up since coming to web3. Too many to mention, but some who come to mind rn have had an outsized impact @adrienne @zachfrench @jessepollak @nounishprof @ccarella.eth @gami.eth @bradq @joshuafisher.eth @les @nonlinear.eth 🙏🎈
