I really can't stand the return of the R word.

Sure, yes, you can say whatever the fuck you want. But it's a really mean word, especially if you have someone in your life with actual developmental disabilities. 

It takes such little effort to think about other people's feelings.

Agree. All for free speech but if some group literally says a word makes them feel bad and there are a million other words that can infer the same meaning why would not just respect that and use a word no one cares about?
