My favourite line in the pub on trump has been - I’m patient and time will reveal. Time is rapidly revealing and the dialogue is rapidly shifting. Just like the great awokening of Covid there will be no mea culpas; just tails between legs and disavowing and topic changing. I’m ok with that. I we aren’t gracious and leave space for change, we slow change.

I’m conflicted on this. Mostly, gracious me is willing to forgive those who fell prey to infectious populist rhetoric and are willing to move on But there are days where chaotic evil me wants to see the world burn much more, for the pain to be undeniable, tangible, and largely distributed, so that a hard lesson can actually be deeply learnt / ingrained in our collective memory, and we don’t repeat similar insane experiments anytime soon I’m trying hard to keep chaotic evil me in check these days but I find it harder than in the first term, where falling for the con was more excusable

I was raised in (and escaped from) a small country town religious community that believed the rapture was going to happen in the 1980s. Without grace shown to me by right thinking people, I would have never found my way to sanity.

They teach creationism in home school, parked the rapture but still claim revelation is prophecy, assert the Bible as being literal truth, worry about possession, blah blah fucking blah.
