Information is power, and public information is power for the Public. Like all public goods, public information should have no single entity be gating or controlling.

When a piece of public information is created, freedom should be inherent. No party should be constraining or controlling such information and its flow.

We’ve made the mistake of giving up freedom over comfort, and now it’s backfiring at us.

We need start now, with the very small things - we can empower the open web and the public good just as how we empowered the data giants before.

It’s time to fight for open information - we must build a future digital world where information empowers all, not just a select few.

The Internet was once a place where public information was stored among open individual servers. But now platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are controlling vast amounts of data, affecting the accessibility and distribution of information.
