What it means to be 𝕭𝖆𝖘𝖊𝖉 (as a Ghoul).

Based was a defi summer project based.money run by an anonymous group called “The Ghouls”.

While an economic failure Based has transformed into a tight knit artistic cargo cult with deep lore.

As a result @quincredible created a Based Ghoul pfp collection.

There were projects by the ghouls during defi summer that all ultimately failed.

- moon.based.money which could be described as a community alignment yield farm

- based.loans a simple Compound v2 fork with a new UI

Moonbase is a new DeFi primitive built by GHOULS and designed to encourage alignment, growth, and collaboration between fair-launch projects.

There is a recurring cast of memes and references notably:

- Dustin Rall, (blessed be he) who overrode the slippage control on Uniswap and spent 50 ETH buying ~2 $based

- Joseph, (not me) a con artist pump and dumper who appeared early in $based

- Characters from Moonbase (where the Astaria name came from)

- Arnold Schwarzenegger, saying “I can smoke my stogies wherever I want”

A lot of the people that started in the Based chat back in 2020 are still there (against their will)
