wow I just failed at helping a lost dog. I followed him for a bit and made calls to the council but when I got back with treats to lure him into the car and to the vet he was gone :( I will never forget this

I've met dogs like this. Sometimes they run "lost dog" scams for treats. You're probably like his 5th or 6th victim that day.
