re: jelly users != holders capitalizing via a token is one thing, using a token to vampire is another, but using a token purely as a marketing or distribution stunt will always fail, especially if your product isn’t native or inherently financial i’m not sure why we think in crypto that our users are our token holders outside of the occasional holding requirement, almost none of our tokens have any intrinsic value or utility they’re speculative shitcoins—they attract gamblers unless you give investors a reason to take a look do you think the holders of mcdonald’s stock eat mcdonald’s regularly? not unless your sick like warren, they certainly do not they’re not holding the stock because they enjoy the happy meals these are two very different groups of people that want different things failing to distinguish between the two will lead to token collapse every time

very well said if you're launching a protocol token and you don't have a way for it to plug into your protocol that makes sense, you're going to have a bad time and do a huge disservice to your actual users, and possibly run your project into the ground there's always a subset of uninformed but well meaning users who are also holders, and view token performance as a proxy for development/product quality because they don't understand that most other holders are just gambling
