quick thoughts on solana consumer apps
i’ve tried 10+ recently, and they mostly fall into two categories: enabling new speculative assets or making onchain more social. the narrative around these apps is clear - you’re either making money or finding the next 10x. no surprise they lead on volume
you can speculate on tweets, comics, play games, or earn tokens by walking. but even with all the experiments, attention still centers around streaming while pumping a token or going viral on tiktok. it’s funny how trends turn into tokens, and users are willing to figure out phantom and how to buy a token for that
on social trading, the experience is poor compared to apps like interface, frens, or castmoney. imo, solana doesn’t win on UX or social features, those are actually bad, but on the narrative that you can make money, and no one cares how clunky the app is 3 replies
