Yeah too early but hard to see a downside except that you’re tipping out your own actual cash which is less fun than allowance cash. But it is a very nice and very easy way to reward quality replies vs that trash pew pew shite

It really got out of hand - especially if you were posting in the groups that certainly started out as well intentioned but ended up as just massive engagement farms of “like, recast, comment” to feed a dwindling allowance

The challenge is knowing who is making good content and creating value. I could spend my whole day replying, but does that add value?

Debatable honestly - most of us aren’t really creating any value no matter what we do - certainly the argument can be made that original “content” creators are doing the work that gets others invested and makes this an interesting place to spend time but idk 🤷🏻♂️ a lot of nuance for sure

Value could mean that someone enjoys seeing your picture as they are winding down their day surfing channels on Warpcast. That keeps users on the app. That creates value. That's the point and that's the value we didn't capture on IG or Twitter.

It’s true. The value we create is directly proportional to the time someone else spends at its most base definition I guess - at least for trad social - here maybe it’s different - not sure really
