Anyone here plays badminton? 🏸
I always saw badminton as just a fun vacation activity where you casually hit the shuttle back and forth with friends/family, without really following any rules or keeping score.
Recently a friend invited me to play badminton in a local gym. Damn, it was intense 😅
I didn't know anything about badminton rules before. Now that I'm diving deeper into it via YouTube, there's so much stuff I didn't know...
Anyway, I find it a good exercise and also much more convenient sport than, for example tennis.
You can play it on almost any kind of ground, it doesn't need to be completely flat and clean like a tennis court.
The reason is obvious, a shuttle does not need to hit the ground during play, like a tennis ball needs to. So potential imperfections on the ground do not disturb the game.
I imagine maintaining a badminton court is cheaper than maintaining a tennis court, which explains why hourly rent is lower. Also equipment is cheaper, and lighter to carry. 5 replies
