What is the best bit of advice that you have ever been given? Who gave it to you and how did it impact you?

I remember an old boss of mine told me "the cream always rises to the top". It really stuck with me. The message is that if you work hard to develop your talents then you will eventually rise to the top and be rewarded for your efforts.

Figuring out what you DON'T want to do with your life is going to be more important than finding what you do want to do.

My grandfather once told me "life is a process of figuring out what you're not" and that helped me a lot in my late teens.

For anyone struggling right now, try as many new things as possible - it's scary, but when you find the thing that is fun that you enjoy doing and you think you might be kinda good at it, that's such a liberation.

Indeed he was, miss him so much. I looked up to him and my late uncle growing up and learned so much from them. The person I'm today is because of them.
