Despite Russia’s absurd demands, I believe Zelensky’s tactic is the right one. It shows the world that Ukraine is ready for peace, while any refusal or silence from Putin will expose Russia’s unwillingness to compromise.

It stops the bloodshed and gives each side the opportunity to consolidate, regroup, and entrench further, but it doesn’t solve the territorial question definitely. What follows could be a similar limbo to the NK/SK situation, but also a de facto victory for Putin who could then resettle the gained territories and claim them in perpetuity
