no, life insurance is a must. i work with this (it’s my specialty) they win in the fact that most people will cancel the insurance before using it and according to mortality tables the odds of someone using it is really low I pay $8 for $100k, without date to stop paying, but i also get paid in case of terminal disease, if i get sick and can’t work, if i get incapacitated and if i have an accident and need specialized medical care. they can refuse to renew my life insurance when im aged 72+.

Unless you have debt / a mortgage to pay or children, chances are you dont need it at all. i also sold insurance and completely disagree its a must for everyone. At least in Canada.

well i’m married and I consider 1. How much my wife would have to work to compensate 2. How long would it take for her to be able to work again 3. Funeral costs (about 8k the cheapest here) 4. Kids we’re having 5. Support for my parents 6. Dentist costs in case of accident 7. Peace so i can stop working if i have a terminal disease and enjoy my last years of life 8. Treatment for cancer or other complex disease 9. If I get sick/suffer accidents it pays me daily rates up to a whole year if i’m hospitalized or can’t get out of bed 10. Funeral for my parents. All included in the cost
