The wonderful thing about Uniswap is that it is truly decentralized. There is literally nothing anyone can do to stop Uniswap from existing - not even an OFAC sanction on Uniswap contracts could stop it. Uniswap has already won; the incumbents just don't realise it yet.

They can stop it — They just list all of the contract addresses and say. If you interact with any of these addresses you're going to jail. If Dexscreener can find all of the V2/V3 pair/pools with liquidity, the US government can too. I think US gov is competent enough to do that though.

Yeah I don't get how OFAC sanction can't stop it. It stopped tornado cash which was also a smart contract

They won’t stop the protocol, they’ll scare Americans from using it (just like they do with tornado). Then if they ever audit of your wallets for taxes, they’ll say “oh look what you touched” and fine you. We all know you can still use the tornado contact, but who still is?
