2024 was a breakout year for the Chapter One crypto portfolio: Helius: #1 validator on Solana network. We co-led seed. Etherfi: 10b TVL. 4th largest Eth protocol. We co-led seed. Ondo Finance: RWA category leader. Highest FDV of any digital asset to launch in 2024.

I want someone to build a “bear market developer” scoreboard that shows the GitHub commit history of individual developers from 2022-2024. Something that shows who kept building during the hardest times.

Pretty wild there are 133M stablecoin holders — haven’t seen this data before. Another metric to arm yourself with when people say crypto has no PMF or real applications. “The number of stablecoin holders continues to rise, now sitting at 133M, led by USDT (81.7M holders) and BSC-USD (25.8M).”

People often ask when crypto products will finally take off. The breakout product of 2024 across the entire tech industry (not just crypto) was Polymarket — which started as a crypto product. Nobody credits crypto because it’s in the background. That was always the goal — fun & utility, not hype.

Congrats to @daylight on the round led by @usv. In 2022 we met @kyle & his methodical product ability impressed our team. We then co-led their pre-seed & they’ve exceeded every expectation since. They send weekly updates to investors & are always heads down. Special team.

The only way to win going forward it to take risks as a brand & be okay with the fact that 50% of the world won’t like you… 40% won’t care because they’re too busy… go for the last 10%.

Most institutional allocators are still pretty hesitant to invest in crypto funds, let alone take chances on new crypto funds. I expect this to change as crypto will be a key source of DPI for many limited partners in 2025. We still need use cases they can understand and communicate to their investment committees.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Polymarket is that the mainstream media isn't highlighting it as a crypto product. This has been our goal from the beginning: To create a product people love for its quality, with crypto working in the background.
