OpenSea should call it a "Creator Royalty" not "Creator Fee". 

Creators traditionally collect royalties on their works. Fees are collected by those that enable the exchange.

Fun fact - they call them Creator “Earnings” on creator-facing UI and creator “fee” on consumer-facing UI

Same - I don’t think it’s pernicious. They made it the standard in many ways! it’s only been put under a magnifying glass in this way in the past couple weeks

Btw, I love OpenSea and have deep respect for them. Seems a mistake though.
