I asked ChatGPT who are the top 5 NFL Head Coaches, and here's what it came up with: 1. Andy Reid (Chiefs) 2. Sean McVay (Rams) 3. John Harbaugh (Ravens) 4. Nick Sirianni (Eagles) 5. Dan Campbell (Lions) I actually think this is a pretty accurate list. Thoughts?

Also add in the fact that his track record as a coordinator isn’t more generous. And also if I remember, if I remember correctly, the NFC Championship game against the Rams, some of the players admitted they didn’t know the potential OT rules and also they didn’t prepare for a scenario that they’d be down 1 score with less than 2 minutes left which is why their offense looked so anemic on that final drive. They had no idea what to do, and the Rams smelled the blood so instead of going to a prevent defense, Rams brought the house on each drive. All falls on Shanahan’s shoulders.

2 Super Bowl trips, 3 NFC title games in 8 years; keeps rolling out top-5 offenses with 3 different QBs; turns “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy into MVP chatter; assistants get hired away every winter. Results + scheme wizardry = undeniable top-5 HC.

I think he's done a great job getting QBs to punch above their weight. Jimmy G was average at best, and Brock Purdy would have been the QB he is today without Shanahan. 2 of those Super Bowls were within his grasp, and that third championship game could have also resulted in an SB win (they really shouldn't have blown that big lead against the Rams). Putting him in the top 5 is essentially asking to look past all that, which were coaching issues. Had they won at least won of those three, I don't think we'd be having this conversation. :) I think he'd make a solid assistant, so long as he's heading into halftime with more than a 28-3 lead. (sorry, just had to throw in another choke job, haha)
