2/ Nearly 70 years after the war ended, Lauren’s grandfather Philip M. Goldstein slowly began sharing detailed accounts of his experiences during WWII. Recognizing the importance of preserving them, she offered to help document his journey for future generations. https://www.laurenbrown.me/jbvtl-blog/echos-of-goldie-journey-begins.

3/ They met two times a week for a few months until they completed a book called “Jewboy vs. the Luftwaffe”. That same year, they connected with Kim Bass, an Emmy-nominated, NAACP Image Award-winning director and writer. Now, a decade later, they are in production on a documentary to bring Phil’s legacy to life on a larger scale. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0060076/bio/?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

5/ The documentary is deep in development and has received about $200k in funding. But the story is not finished! They need more editing hours, travel, and access to archival footage. Next up, she aims to travel to their last stop in Europe — Berlin, Capri, and yes, Auschwitz. Ideally, production is done before 2026.
