I started getting crazy about thumbnails on IG Reels and we went from 800 to 9,000 followers in the last two months.

Click “Edit Cover”, set the Reel Cover and edit the Profile Grid thumbnail.

Cover helps with discovery on the Explore page. Profile grid cover benefits the viewer when scrolling your profile.

I share this because I didn’t know I needed to edit both the cover AND profile grid. I was only doing the cover up until December.

Glad it’s helpful! I think it’s exactly like YouTube except the dual-purpose nature of cover vs. profile grid is definitely not made clear in the design of the app.
