Is hub-to-hub communication encrypted? I know grpc can be, but is it? What about gossip?

Why would you want to do that? Again casts being public Is it to just hide your hub? If so why don’t you round robin it to the 13k available hubs?

You want to leak some government secret. Or live in Russia and want to share some news that Putin would not appreciate. Hosting your own hub is one step in this direction, but not if they can identify the IP of the hub these casts originated from.

Re 13k hubs, why would you trust them? Who operates each one of them?

Well they’re all signed and running the code that farcaster team made, it’ll be pretty difficult to impersonate these hubs from my understanding. The only things I’ve encountered is that these hubs can be running bad / slow hardware

It would be trivial to set up one and keep logs of IPs that connected to RPC and submitted a message.
