How resilient is the protocol to the level of attacks being levied by whomever is targeting X, though?

That provides resiliency from overwhelming a single hub, but I'm wondering about the upper limits of the network to be able to handle a DDoS influx of messages - potentially even spread across multiple nodes 

It's certainly a more difficult target than X, but not an invulnerable one, I anticipate.
