There’re a lot more barriers for certain ethnic groups(Indians, Chinese) to stay in this country legally so it can feel as difficult as for so called ‘illegal immigrants’. I don’t know if I really answered your question lol.

I agree with @monishkumar , there’s not enough official information publicly on the ways people can stay in this country so my experience is that people search for information that most relevant to them.

Hmm I think there’s a lot of negative narrative towards so called ‘illegal immigrants’. I heard that they take over the most unwanted jobs and contribute to taxes yet they’re not receiving enough credits because they are ‘illegal’.

seems there are lots of immigrants here (I’m the daughter of one!). some random Qs I can’t shake: 1. what parts of current immigration discussion are the most important to you? 2. why/why not should we distinguish between legal v illegal immigration? 3. who do you think is most affected by immigration in the US?

Interesting questions. Allow me, an immigrant, share some of my perspectives 1. Immigration policies, especially the stupid rules on immigration based on birth place. European countries don’t discriminate like that. In addition, H1B visa lottery system. 2. Should, their ways to stay in this country are different.

I find it frustrating at my internship where I go to see middle school kids because I seldom feel needed there. These clients don’t know why they come to therapy, and I’m not a part of the school community that teachers are making time for me to see the children. I’m the lowest in the hierarchy.
