Been asking myself: what effects do we get when "funding a Regen project through a prediction market tied to its goals?". I like that the prediction market is available throughout the work cycle of the project and there can be liquidity to use (as opposed to the retro-active nature of impact vouchers that have no market). As a funder/sponsor of regen projects, I could seed my donation into a prediction market (imagine for a second that the liquidity could be locked until the market resolves). I could then donate all LP tokens to the regen project who could sell the "will NOT reach goals this cycle" shares to bet on themselves and access some of the pool's liquidity (e.g. to cover operations). And when the market resolves (not focusing on oracle challenges here), the project's remaining YES shares have the same effect as a retro-active reward for reaching the goals. Just churning what-ifs and ignoring things like "a project would also know if they're likely failing and could bet against success" and such.

Just one note of caution: the Human Wallet v2 is not finally released and so my app is configured to run against their staging environment. This means that there can still be some glitches. From what I heard they're getting close to the final release, though. Btw, ask me anything about the Human Wallet. I've spent quite some time integrating and testing it over the last year. There is also a builders channel on Telegram, if you're interested.

I tried to get the hard parts out of the way and implemented internationalization. But it only has files for EN and DE. All you'd need to do is add a "es" directory to the locales with the translation files to make it Spanish. I'd be super happy about a pull request ;) See here: https://github.com/j-h-scheufen/next-auth-human-wallet/tree/main/apps/web-app/app/i18n/locales

These are very good points. Thanks for bringing them up! The embedded Human Wallet is a "no seed phrase" wallet and ideal for non-tech folks. The wallet is tied to your email and can be unlocked with any web2 account that uses the same email, e.g. Google, Discord, etc. This is the main reason I chose it. The Human Score is a feature of Human Wallet called "Proof of Humanity" where a user can create a sould-bound token for verifying their identity an a ZK way. It's not automatic, though. An app can chose to integrate it, e.g. a DAO could require the proof before handing out voting tokens. I believe most of the existing Proofs that people generated as part of their Gitcoin passport were done by connecting their Metamask (or other) wallet. This is important to understand, because with version 2 of the wallet being rolled out soon, the wallet will generate a new address for users signing up with their email, so anything tied to the Metamask address used in Gitcoin is not available under that new address.

Trying to build more in the open ... Here's a ready-to-go web3 starter app with an embedded @holonym Human Wallet for easy onboarding of non-web3 folk. To be used as a starting point in hackathons or new app development. Features: NextJS / NextAuth / wagmi / HeroUI / i18n. This is a template that came out of my work on the "Regen Link" registry. Have fun! https://github.com/j-h-scheufen/next-auth-human-wallet/tree/main/apps/web-app

Every letter of a vanity address reduces your entropy by 4 bits. Just saying "know what you're doing" and use a reliable randomness generator. Remember the Profanity address generator that generated flawed addresses that were exploited. Also, if you don't have to, don't go over 4 fixed characters, the less the better. Have fun!

Since the beginning of the year I've been working on getting a project off the ground to bring decentralization, crypto, and common good infrastructure to the Capoeira community. The first pieces are coming together in the form of a DAO and community registry (see below). AMA about these projects. https://axe-dao.vercel.app https://quilombo.vercel.app If you are involved in Capoeira and crypto, I'd really really like to get to know you! :)

Hi all, can you remind me what the criteria are to get a $REGEN allocation on regen.tips? I checked a few addresses that I understood would qualify (e.g. Gitcoin climate round donations, linked to Farcaster account), but nothing. Thanks a lot!

Ultimately, these fine tunings are expressed in the avg tx cost and there are sites to see that side by side. Don't see it on L2Beat, though. https://l2beat.com/scaling/activity.

The gas target is how many transactions (and their gas) can go into a block before the base fee starts increasing. Higher gas target means fitting more tx capacity at the base fee.
