I’ve been working on figuring out babka for over 15 years … Back when I started, there was no babka recipe on the internet…shocking I know! I went to the library and found what ended up being a terrible recipe. I became obsessed with this bread. What a fun journey … still working on it. 😋

Ah gosh - so glad it looks yum to you! I use a bunch of pieces of recipes, which I should document! 😅 Here are ROUGH summary… I use this Sourdough Challah for the dough: https://breadbyelise.com/sourdough-challah/ Filling: 1/2 c cocoa powder, 3/4 c sugar, enough oil to get thick spread ~1/4-1/2 c), 1/2 t salt

Shape: something like the classic twist https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/blog/2017/04/10/how-to-shape-babka Imprecise Streusel 😂: 1/4 c flour, 1/4 c brown sugar, 1 t cinnamon, 1/4 t salt, 3 T butter. Brush top with a beaten egg and top with streusel. Bake at 350 F about 45 mins or until 203 F in center
