Inventions vs. Discoveries The best creations straddle the borderline between invention and discovery. “Invention” implies the specific perspective needed to stumble across something so new. Inventors draw upon their unique backgrounds and personal experiences to distill their creation. “Discovery” implies the fundamental truth in the human condition that powers the creation. Discoveries feel “obvious” in the way that gravity feels obvious. Once you point it out, anyone can verify its effect, but it carries no information on how difficult it was to come up with in the first place. If you’ve created something that somehow feels both new and obvious at the same time, you’re probably onto something big. my POV, inventions feels "new" even they might not, and have a large impact on your life / lifestyle. Discoveries have small impact on your life style i.e. Marrie Curie discovered Radiation, but can't invent it. However a machine using radiation to cure cancer is invention.
