Lot of bad takes on CT re: the Base coin(s) yesterday Feels like they are largely missing the point because many of them haven't really been paying attention, too focused on claiming that Base rugged (they didn't) when in reality some snipers got in for 25% of the supply early and them dumping + the second coin launch caused a massive selloff I still find the contentcoin model to be broken and misaligned: good for creators because no downside and free money but really no upside for buyers which I think will lead to exhaustion That's what I take issue with more than Base launching a bunch of coins (although I think that's odd too for a brand and they could've communicated it a lot better to avoid the situation) I am all for experimentation and innovating on onchain models for creators, businesses, etc. but I do find it strange that Base is so insanely aligned with one company on this and are hellbent on pushing *that specific model* forward, acting almost as if they're the ones who invented and built it

no one else on base right now has built a social product that embraces content coins. there are launchpads, but those clearly have different cultural expectations. would love to use other products that embrace coins.

Have you seen what @kienfam and @dalechyn.eth built with beliefs.social?

yes i've followed them closely! and considered multiple times coining an idea. my fear has been that launching an idea is a very different thing that coining a piece of content - because an idea implicitly has more expectations. but i could be wrong on that - the overton window can shift further

It's basically the same thing as Zora, you can coin an image or a URL
