hey i was about to do this too but have never interacted with base - do you have a recommendation for bridging over eth?

As an artist I don't have the answers. I rarely use coinbase for anything other than taking profits.

What are the best ways for new Base users to get onboarded aside from via Coinbase?

you can onramp from pretty much any cex (binance, okx, yellowcard) and there are a ton of other onramps (and offramps) that are available like @zkp2p and onboard.xyz

you can also bridge from any other L2 through things like jumper.exchange

and then you can bridge from L1, but it's the most expensive!
