if you're skeptical of coins, i recommend creating a few before you pass final judgement — key word is "a few", need to get past doing just one, so you normalize it and embrace it as the form it really is

Part of the skepticism is the uncertainty of what is actually happening technically. ie how does the liquidity even work? A creator wants a token that’s going to be around a while.. so you want to know what’s happening with the supply of the token.. Is there any platform that’s easy and I can actually control the token?
