Over the next 2 years, the familiar "Connect Wallet" affordance will disappear from most DApps except DeFi. Crypto onboarding will occur through simple, familiar mechanisms. No pop-ups, no hashes, no transactions, no fees. Users won't even know they're using crypto.

You're probably right, but there is no better UX than sign in with wallet imo. Every time I have to use an email sign in I cry a little.
