I’m one of the people Dan was talking about on his earlier cast today. I don’t have a following on any other social media platform so I haven’t had to maintain my online connections, update them on my thoughts or my takes on current events, etc.

Haven’t had to consider what my “brand” is or how I should capitalize on it, etc. It’s like another job. In fact, one of my nieces has over a million YouTube subscribers and she and her mom and dad live and breathe social media 24/7. Straw man logic fallacy aside though, I understand it can be lucrative. Maybe in the near future it will be unavoidable. On that day, I’ll be singing Dan McLean’s song about things forever lost.

Then we’re in agreement on that topic.  I know how to get more reach and it doesn’t involve money guns or lotteries.  It’s like @dwr.eth has been telling us for months and months now and probably to the OGs a lot longer.

Just reply. Be genuine. Be engaging. Don’t be a dick. This doesn’t mean you can’t be contrarian or hold an opposing viewpoint. Just practice kindness and respect in your replies and casts.  The few times I’ve done this because they were topics I was passionate about, I’ve gotten some really terrific engagement. It helps that the vibe on Farcaster is largely intact. I’ve seen people get raked over the coals on X for expressing a half-baked opinion. This is why I like Long Casts.  More space to explain yourself if needed. 😄
