There was something less savory about the producer/director of this movie. He only paid the two main breakdancers $15,000 for their work. That tidbit got swept under the rug, but the local paper did reporting on the contract with the actors. A formative example of the upper class and lower class dynamic.

Interesting bit of trivia. I remember hanging out with them in front of the Grauman's Chinese theater with big pieces of cardboard boxes and huge boomboxes. The other hangout was in Westwood when it was still closed to cars.
