What is the best bit of advice that you have ever been given? Who gave it to you and how did it impact you?

I remember an old boss of mine told me "the cream always rises to the top". It really stuck with me. The message is that if you work hard to develop your talents then you will eventually rise to the top and be rewarded for your efforts.

The best piece of advice i’ve ever come across for me, was found here, on warpcast which sounds unreal but it’s true. 

I learnt about turning people into trees. When we look at a tree we don't judge it or question why it grew the way it did. Often times we see environmental factors that might affect the tree. Like it didn't get enough light, water, or other nutrients or nourishment. But we don't say it's lesser than another tree. 

This changed my whole view about people and even myself. Trees don't judge, they just be. Be like a tree, hug a tree, appreciate a tree, turn people into trees.

Wow! I really love this analogy! What a wonderful way to think about other people. It's so true that people are the result of their upbringing and their experiences. As humans we have a tendency to judge others but really we have no idea about why they are the way we are and really this is what we should be asking and then the follow on step is how can we help them?
