Been noticing how important dialing the voice is. Too many audiobooks use that smarmy professional drone tone 💤 

e.g part of what made Murderbot pop (for me at least) was how good the reader was. I’m guessing I wouldn’t have liked it as much had I read-read it

Another example where the quirky choice of reader really made it: Elizabeth Bear, Ancestral Night (good big science-y space opera)
