Manicure has been known as an art since time immemorial. Thus, in Ancient Greece there was a "job" of a cosmet. As you might guess, this word comes from the root "cosmos", which is translated from Greek as "order". Therefore, well-groomed nails are a step towards harmony. The cosmetes were slaves, and their duties included bathing Greek citizens in special baths with aromatic oils, giving them massages, applying makeup and a special "nail polish" consisting of fat and animal blood. The same thing was done by cosmetes in Ancient Rome in the 2nd century BC.
