Certain actors have long monopolized the MEV pie.

The realization is that rather than trying to mitigate MEV (close the pie shop), it makes sense to just include more “pie testers.”

MEV supply chain actors have exploited opportunities to maximize their profits for a long time.

The actors: searchers, block builders, relays (in some cases), and block proposers.

Every party in the supply chain directly benefits from MEV except the users whose txs are being exploited and the apps.

Only if there was a way to align MEV incentives so apps & users can also directly benefit…

Fastlane (https://x.com/0xFastLane?s=09) is creating the MEV protection layer on Monad by building a framework (called Atlas) that allows apps to internalize MEV opportunities - incentive alignment.

It is termed “App-Specific Sequencing - ASS” and aims to redistribute profit derived from MEV back to users & apps.

Fastlane is turning a zero-sum game into a positive-sum game.
