I’m not a smart mather but go with me on this… 

if I buy 100k of $ham, and a month later it’s worth in dollars what 75k of $ham was worth when I bought, but at the same time I had gained 50k of $ham from tips. I’d actually, in dollar value, be up 25% no?

Am I mathin right?

For the purpose of the question let’s assume ham was worth  $0.10

100k ham = $10,000

Price drops and now your dollar value of that 100k ham is 75% of what it was but you’ve gained 50k in tips.

150k ham * $0.075 = $11,250

You’re up 12.5% on your investment
